A New Year

Dear Friend of Downtown,

It’s a new year! The time to shake off the dust, set some intentions and think about what we can do in 2023 that is better for ourselves, our companies, or our community.

Some major Downtown projects have broken ground and many more are on the horizon, our city has a new mayor, and I just keep getting more and more optimistic about our city and our Downtown. January is such a great reset – and not just because we flip the calendar. Winter is here, things quiet down after the holidays, and we can hunker down in our planning and thinking about what we want and figure out how to get there.

Mayor Fischer served our city for 12 years, creating new pillars such as Compassion, Bourbonism, and growth of our immigrant community. He brought something new to the role of mayor – part businessman, part marketing guru, and part yogi. Every mayor wants to carve out their own niche, and as I start to work with the new city administration, I am super excited to see what Mayor Greenberg does as he takes the reins.

I hope you are able to take advantage of the quieter hum of January. While you are thinking about what you want to do in 2023, take note of what’s going on around you and know that pride and happiness in what you do and where you live shines through everything else you do. We all could use more of that, and you.

Hope to see you on the streets soon!
